A Search for Oneself
I came when every
Nook in your life had been given away;
It was worse in your heart
For there wasn’t any space left even
For another throb.
What you offered me
Was heaven among thorns and crosses;
Bliss in the midst of widespread misery;
Fame in complete anonymity;
Success in utter despair;
And strength in total helplessness.
Honestly I wasn’t prepared
To see even a tiny part of your world;
Yet for reason incomprehensible
I was drawn to a mission that
Was totally unknown
And only the downtrodden and
Orphans would understand…
Suddenly I became aware of my own soul…
Backward, frantically I began to search
For its missing fragments.
