Orphans of Eternity

By heritage
We cross bridges of sand
As we carry our burdens alone,
Seldom a dove offers a song
To lull our weary souls.

Savagery isn’t just a feature of the serpents
It’s everybody’s last defense
For even in the galaxies
Mutinies are constantly launched
Against the gentleness of the gods.

Though countless climb the peaks
Few get a glimpse of the dawn
But the twilight always grabs the glory
Of everyone’s decay.

The tragic loss of comrades
Isn’t reason for despair, for a cross was raised to heaven
… long ago
To woo the flames of hell.
