Equinoxial Flashes
Lord, step into my stillness
Blow a vernal wind into my motionless spirit
Sketch upon the centerfold of my conscience
Even just an illusion of my being
Lord, touch me and smooth out the
Rugged edges of my existence
Sprinkle some colors upon the surface
Of my dreams
That I may realize that beyond you
Nothing else matters
Lord, extinguish the wild fire raging in me
For countless lifetimes
Pour even just a tiny drop of your immortality
Over my degradable nature
That I may deserve even just a pigment of eternity
… then I will close my eyes
In crystal reverence
An act of child-like surrender
Back into
Nothingness
